Introducing the Strategy Navigator: A Reflective Partner for Leaders Beyond Business-as-Usual

The challenges facing business today are not only strategic and operational — they are existential. Climate change, societal fragmentation, technological disruption, and shifting stakeholder expectations all call for a deeper kind of leadership and a new way of designing business.

Wouldn’t it be great to have a tool that could help co-design new business models and strategies that align with higher purpose and tackle systemic challenges… and that could analyze existing companies and identify potential gaps and pivots needed? What if it already exists?

Over the past years, I have worked with leaders, boards, and organizations to apply the Fit for Purpose framework, which I first introduced in my book Better Business Better Future (2022). The framework helps companies explore their Why, What, Who, Where, and How in alignment with their ecosystemic context and the Big Problems they choose to address. It emphasizes that true fitness for the future requires both internal alignment (between purpose, strategy, culture, and execution) and external alignment (with the realities of our time and the needs of the planet).

Now, I’m excited to take a step further: the launch of the Strategy Navigator (a super helpful GPT available for ChatGPT users, remember to log in first).

What is the Strategy Navigator?

In short, the Strategy Navigator is a Custom GPT — an AI-powered tool that acts as a reflective partner. It is designed to help leaders, consultants, researchers, and boards to:

  • Co-design new business models and strategies that align with higher purpose and tackle systemic challenges.
  • Analyze existing companies through the Fit for Purpose framework. It maps purpose, products, stakeholders, markets, and operating models, while also exploring alignment, ecosystemic context, and leadership orientation.
  • Engage leadership teams and boards with reflective questions and workshop outlines that spark dialogue and deeper insight.

The Strategy Navigator is not here to replace consultants, coaches, or human judgment. Rather, it is a structured companion — a way to frame questions, surface patterns, and accelerate the journey from analysis to insight.

Why launch this now?

We are at a tipping point. Businesses that cling to yesterday’s models risk losing relevance — or worse, accelerating planetary overshoot. At the same time, the need for organizations that serve life has never been greater.

The Strategy Navigator is one way to make the tools of transformative business design more widely available. It democratizes access to reflective inquiry, while staying rooted in research and practice. My hope is that it will spark conversations in leadership teams, open new perspectives for boards, and inspire entrepreneurs to build ventures that matter. Also, that it will serve as a bridge between inner reflection and outer transformation — supporting leaders who are ready to move beyond business-as-usual and help co-create a thriving future for people, society, and the planet.
