To lead in a VUCA world

11 september, 2020 Leadership ,

“Companies operate in an increasingly complex world. Business environments are more diverse, dynamic, and interconnected than ever – and far less predictable.”

The quote above comes from Harvard Business Review (a 2016 issue) and is probably more relevant than ever.

In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, end of May 2020, I delivered the final lecture to the participants of the one-year Executive Program in Industrial Management at KTH Executive School in Stockholm.

The title of this year’s lecture was appropriately enough ”To Lead in a VUCA World”. Last time I delivered the final lecture in Stockholm, IRL. When this program cohort started out in the fall of 2019 no one had of course foreseen the COVID-19 crisis – or could even have imagined that the last two months of the program would have to be quickly moved online. The program staff however improvised really well and set up the last modules, including the final lecture, via Zoom.

Hoping to contribute with a few insights, I’m sharing the presentation with you. Click here to download the lecture PDF in full: FutureNavigator KTH How to lead in a VUCA world May 2020 Elisabet Lagerstedt final final.pdf

You can also view a 30 min edited excerpt from the two-hour lecture here via YouTube, excluding group interaction and workshops:
